A four-day break in the Cotswolds | Newmarket Holidays

If you want a short break in the UK, Newmarket Holidays’ four-night trip to the Cotswolds is the perfect choice. This part of the country is known as an area of outstanding natural beauty, and its scenery is quintessentially English. Ancient woodland, tree-lined valleys and rolling hills serve as an idyllic backdrop to the yellow-stone towns and villages.

A tour manager will be on hand during your stay, accompanying you on each of the three excursions that are included in the price of the holiday. While the programme organised by Newmarket Holidays is brimming over with fun activities, you will still have plenty of time to relax and use your hotel’s leisure facilities.

The first tour during this break will be a visit to the southern Cotswolds. Here you will have the chance to stroll around the charming Tuesday Market, located in Moreton-in-Marsh, and enjoy the sights and scenery of Stow-on-the Wold, which is home to a beautiful town square. A highlight of this tour is the stop in the charming Bourton-on-the-Water, which is one of the most scenic villages in the local area.

A second excursion, to Warwick, will be taken the following day. You’re free to explore this town at your leisure. You might want to see the medieval castle, with its ghost tower, dungeon and state rooms, or head towards Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon. The final tour during your break will bring you through the Vale of Evesham, and also includes a trip to the ‘jewel of the Cotswolds’, otherwise known as Broadway. You can wander along some of the country’s longest high streets before making your way to Winchcombe, an ancient Saxon town.

During your break, you will stay at the charming Britannia Royal Court Hotel, which is located amid eleven acres of beautiful gardens, and is approximately three miles away from the centre of Coventry. Constructed around a Manor House that dates back to the late nineteenth century, this hotel has a leisure centre, a bar and a restaurant. All of its rooms are traditionally decorated, and come with tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a television. The price is inclusive of four nights’ accommodation, with breakfast and dinner, as well as the above-mentioned tours of the southern Cotswolds and Stow-on-the-Wold. It also covers coach travel, the tour manager’s services, a visit to Stratford-upon Avon, and the Vale of Evesham journey.
